Privacy

Plain Measure has no accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no advertising, no affiliate tracking and no analytics. It does not set cookies.

The calculator

The healthy weight calculator runs entirely in your browser, in JavaScript served by this site. The height, weight, age group, sex and waist measurement you enter are processed on your device only: they are not sent to a server, stored or logged, and nothing is kept after you close the page. If you arrive through a link that contains a height and sex in its address (for example ?gender=female&height=5.4), those values are read by your browser to pre-fill the form; like any web address, the hosting provider's logs may record the full address requested.

What is collected

• By Plain Measure: nothing. Pages are static files; we run no tracking scripts and do not measure audiences.
• By the hosting provider: Cloudflare, which serves the site, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) to deliver pages and protect against attacks. The host's details are on the legal notice.

Fonts and images

The typefaces used on this site, Domine and Source Sans 3 (both under the SIL Open Font License), are served by the site itself. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other font service. All photographs are stored on this site; their sources are listed on the photo credits page.

No third-party services

There are no embedded videos, maps, social media buttons, comment systems or advertising scripts on Plain Measure.

Links to other sites

Articles link to public health bodies such as the WHO, the CDC, the NIH, the NHS and NICE so that you can check the sources. Those links carry no tracking codes. The sites they lead to have their own privacy policies.
